In order
The evening, in order
Before leaving home, two things are worth arranging. The first is a Playground Player's card, needed to sit at any poker table; it can be arranged online or at Guest Services. The second is a seat on a waiting list, requested through the Poker Atlas app. The text-message line that used to do this has been switched off.
Playground stands at 1500 Route 138, Kahnawake, QC J0L 1B0, and poker has a room of its own on the third floor. Its 65 tables run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once seated, every player is given drinks at no charge. If you are in a cash game, food comes at no charge as well.

The road, the car and the bus
From Montréal, the drive crosses the Honoré-Mercier Bridge and follows Route 138. Playground puts itself 20 minutes from downtown Montréal by car. Parking costs nothing, in the self-park lot or with the valet.
If you are coming by public transit, take the Green Line to Angrignon, the last station. From there, take exo bus 31 or 32 heading for Châteauguay and step off at the Playground stop. For a late finish, there is no hotel in the building. Playground sends overnight guests to the Host Hotel at 1800 RTW 132 in Kahnawake, 5 minutes away.
Licences and oversight in Kahnawake
The Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC) licenses Playground Poker Club as a poker room and Playground's electronic gaming devices. It posts the machines' Return to Player (RTP) percentages. Kahnawà:ke regulates gaming on its territory through the KGC and calls it a sovereign right. Loto-Québec has said that under the Criminal Code only provinces may offer games of chance. The two positions have not been reconciled.
The KGC's Comprehensive Self-Exclusion applies to all land-based venues under its licence. Submit the form to venue management or to the KGC together with a photograph and two pieces of government ID. Requests to lift it are not considered before 6 months, or before 2 years after a second request.
Online
What exists online in Québec
Playground runs no online casino. It warns that any ad or website claiming otherwise is fraudulent. In September 2023, the KGC flagged Facebook ads that wrongly said Playground offered online gaming.
Loto-Québec runs the province's own online games at lotoquebec.com, open to Québec residents 18 and over who are physically in Québec. No licence exists in Québec for private online casinos. A KGC online licence is not treated as a Québec authorization, and Kahnawà:ke and Québec continue to disagree on that point.
